The long awaited Bond sequel has finally got a title and its quite a good one - 'Skyfall'. I don't know what it is about that word but it just screams classic Bond to me like 'Goldfinger', 'Thunderball' and errmm 'Moonraker'. It is certainly better than 'Quantum Of Solace', which sounded like strange French art-house film that people with berets would enjoy. Daniel Craig is of course set to return as 007 with head honcho Dame Judi Dench reprising the role of M, the best news to emerge from this film however was the confirmation of Javier Bardem as the film's villain. If that isn't dream casting I don't know what is, Bardem is superb in any role but as a villain he is mindblowing, No Country For Old Men being the only evidence needed.

Also confirmed to be in the cast were Ralph Fiennes in an unspecified role, French model Berenice Marlohe as the new Bond girl and Naomie Harris who is rumoured to be the new Moneypenny. With Sam Mendes in the director's chair we can certainly expect this to be a very stylish outing for the British agent, but I'm intrigued as to how he will handle the action portions of 'Skyfall'. Mendes isn't exactly what you would call an action movie director so unless Bond is an unhappily married man in suburban America, this will be a bit of a stretch for the 'American Beauty' director.
'Skyfall' is slated for release in November next year which makes it another film on a long list of massive releases in 2012 with it joining 'Dark Knight Rises', 'The Hobbit', 'Avengers' and 'Spiderman'.
