'Ghost Rider' wasn't the most loved of Marvel superhero movies. It was easily the most forgettable and I don't think anybody expected a sequel to be announced and actually made, but none the less 'Ghost Rider: Ghost of Vengeance' is set for summer 2012 release. This time around things seem slightly more promising thanks to the new trailer showcasing Nicholas Cage's Johnny Blaze and his inner beast the Ghost Rider. In the volatile hands of 'Crank' directing duo Neveldine/Taylor I shall be hoping they bring out Cage's inner beast and not that emotionless zombie from the first movie.
So there's your trailer. Looked cool right? His pee was fire. It may be a bit extreme but it's definitely more like what I expect from a film about a film guy with a flaming skull head. We also see a bit of Idris Elba and he is always awesome and the role of a warrior monk seems to further this idea. I don't know about anyone else but I'm optimistic about this movie - cautiously optimistic that is.
Out next summer Ghost Rider 2 could either be another major flop for the directing pair after the abysmal 'Jonah Hex' (probably not their fault) or it could inject a much needed boost of craziness into this batsh*t stupid comic book character.
