'The Guard' is a new dark comedy from John Michael McDonagh, the brother of 'In Bruge' writer/director Martin McDonagh. The film follows an Irish policeman who is teamed up with an American F.B.I. agent in order to investigate a drug smuggling ring. Now that might sound abit strange because well.... it is, but with Brendan Gleeson and Don Cheadle in the lead roles this film looks hilarious.
'In Bruges' is one of my favourite comedies and John Michael McDonagh appears to have the exact sense of humour as his brother because let's say this film won't be for everyone. Gleeson and Cheadle are terrific actors and seem to have great chemistry judging by their scenes together. Add in Mark Strong and Liam Cunnigham and there is a very promising cast.
'The Guard' will be released on 19th August and is not one to miss.
